Selbstgespräch
10. September 2026

EnglishTalking to myself
It's time to have a deeper conversation with myself to find out what is rising from the depths in order to be noticed.
In the end I am all and everything I have at my disposal – I am material, creator and creation all in one. This knowledge sets me free.
When I was young, I wanted to get away, far away from all the contradictions, conflicts, misunderstandings and battlefields. I understood the world as an arena in which my life was at stake.
And that's what it was about - but mostly WITHIN me.
Yet I did not know this as I repeatedly went through hell during my childhood and youth - through deep valleys of loneliness and inner conflict - while trying in vain to live up to the standards imposed upon me.
Freedom was merely a word; obedience was the supreme virtue; anything that was truly my own was deemed reprehensible, as was anything beautiful. There was no room for the unfolding of the strengths and gifts that were striving to come to light.
But my will to live was stronger than my fears, it found its way, I only had to follow.
Thus my soul secretly escaped the shadows of empty words, which I filled with new life, with meaning and significance beyond what I had been tought.
Thus the love that was only meant for the obedient became the sun-like love that shines on everyone, including me.
And freedom gained life the more I took of it.
I ventured deeper into the darkness of the forbidden, got to know and value the shadows as clues to the light in which I had already been moving along.
So I slowly got to know life - and fear and heaviness gave way to love for the things as they are.
My eyes sharpened in the light, saw deeper, further, higher. And I loved what I percieved: life full of contradiction and contrast, a child of heaven who had fallen into the womb of mother earth - like me.
I found life everywhere now, in the smallest and the largest items: in the blue of the sky, in the green of the leaves, in every beetle, every animal, in me, in you, in everything alive.
Peace, once just a word, has become my companion - fleeting and shy most of the time - but when I strive for it, it comes to warm my heart and mind.
What else can I do but be grateful?
For every person, every animal, for trees and flowers, wind and weather, for the hard and the soft, for the beautiful and the terrible, for every contrast - all is part of life and for my best: to help me practice and to get to know myself.
So I've grown older, much older than I feel. My heart is still young and my ears attentive to the call of life to which I have been listening from the very beginning of my journey, from heaven to earth - and back again.
